Aimée and her father, Emile, live on the estate of a French chateau owned by the cantankerous Count and his wistful wife, the Countess. Emile takes care of the Count's special cars, one of which Aimée adores. She calls it "Blue Bug" and longs to drive it one day.

While Aimée is visiting her village and sitting in Blue Bug, a mystery woman named Hellé Nice appears and admires Blue Bug. It turns out that Hellé Nice is a famous racer who drives the very same car, a Bugatti Type 35, for the Bugatti team!
